Villas breathing in unison with the wind and nature
The late architect Yi Jong-ho focused more on the essential significance of placeness over the shape of buildings. Educated and trained exclusively in Korea, Yi learned under prominent architect Kim Swoo-geun for 10 years as his final apprentice. Block C of JEJU ARTVILLAS was designed by Yi Jong-ho to channel the winds sweeping over JEJU’s natural environment through and around each of the structures. The soft silhouette of nature spreads through each villa via the rectangular central courtyard and sunken garden. Each cozy and tranquil house embodies the essence of nature and place in a space designed for pristine rest and relaxation.
