Dominique Perrault, a world-renowned French architect, focuses on the the "why" of a building more than on the "how." In 1989, as a young and relatively unknown architect in his early thirties, he designed the National Library of France, which became an iconic architectural landmark in Paris, in the shape of four open books that seemed to embrace nature and its surroundings. Block B of ARTVILLAS, designed by Perrault, incorporates undulating curves reminiscent of the volcanic cones of JEJU, inviting the nature outside into the spaces within.
